As an Associate Professor of Chemistry with nearly two decades of teaching experience, my daily life at Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, revolves around the scientific principles that govern our universe. My academic journey, from my B.Sc. at Cotton University to my M.Sc. and Ph.D. at Gauhati University, has instilled in me a profound appreciation for methodical inquiry, critical thinking, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge. My scholarly interests in Green Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, and Sustainable Chemistry are driven by a desire to understand and improve the world around us.
Yet, beyond the laboratory and the lecture hall, I have always been captivated by the human element of progress. My involvement with organizations like the Indian Science Congress Association, the Association of Chemistry Teachers, and the Assam Science Society, coupled with my publications in national and international journals, has allowed me to witness the transformative power of dedication and intellect across various fields. Accolades such as the Best Student Award from ISCA in 2004 and the Best Teacher Award from CRSI in 2011 are humbling reminders of the impact one can have through commitment to learning and teaching.
But this book steps beyond the realm of chemical reactions and into the rich tapestry of human lives. While my professional life is dedicated to the molecular world, my broader interests extend to the societal and humanistic aspects of our existence. My active participation in administrative roles, guidance of student organizations, and engagement in social initiatives like tree plantation drives and community relief efforts underscore my belief in the power of individual action to shape a better future.
